Email and Website changes

Since I have a new site coming shortly, everything on the back-end is being changed around. Right now it appears as though my email is down. If you need to contact me, please feel free to write to me at erikmatey@gmail.com. This email address will only be temporary, but I will be checking it frequently during this transition. If you have email me in the last 1-2 days, it may be a safe bet to resend it to this new address if you have not heard back from me yet.

Thanks!

2008 Philadelphia Flower Show

So I have been working on creating a new website over the last few weeks (it is very time consuming). The new site should be launched in about 2-3 weeks. I can't wait for it. This new site will be very clean but lots of BIG pictures. This blog will also be moved over, so if you have it bookmarked, be prepared to update it. My friend and fellow photographer, Nicole Polk, and I visited the Philadelphia Flower show at the beginning of the month. If you remember from my post about it last year, this is the world's largest indoor flower show. It draws close to 300,000 people into Philly for it. The displays are amazing, and to think, they set it up in 1 week, and tear down in only 1-2 days.

Enjoy!

Denver

Denver brought about my last stop of this trip. It was really nice to see and meet so many people along the way. Although Denver is a really nice city, I didn't get too much time to shoot, so I only have a few to share.

The New Mile High Stadium

A few of the locals...(just kidding Denver)...I saw these guys on the side of the road.

Salt Lake City

My second stop of this trip took me to Salt Lake City. I arrived in town early afternoon, which allowed me LOTS of time to shoot. I actually went out twice, once the first day, into the city and the next day concentrating on the surroundings of the city. Salt Lake City is actually a much smaller city than I thought it was, but the views were amazing.

I love these colors

Great Salt Lake

This is the state capitol building. It's pretty much at the top of the hill of the city.

The inside of the Capital...nearly completely made of marble.

Stay tuned for Denver's pictures soon. (the weather isn't cooperating as well here as the other cities, but I have some fun stuff already!

Seattle

So after a 6hr delay (yes..., 6hrs) flight from Philly, I made it to Seattle. The first day of the went really well yesterday. I met lots of people and had a great time talking to each of them.

After the seminar was over, I took some time to relax then met up with the photographer friends in the area. We went bowling (no pictures of that, sorry,) and had lots of fun. After we finished up bowling, Josh Gene was kind enough to be my local tour guide. It was relatively late, especially for a Sunday night, so there wasn't as much active night life. Even with the lack of the busy streets, It was really nice to see a new city.

Here are a few shots that I did get from that night.

The Space Needle from Kerry Park

A couple taking in the nice weather and the beautiful scenery.

The Famous fish market.(this is where they throw the fish around...LOL) This place is usually FILLED with people during the day

Inside the Fish market

A cool scooter outside

I laughed at the chalk draw Salmon and of course, you can't visit Seattle with out mentioning Starbucks. This one below is the FIRST ever Starbucks. (I even saw a 2-story Starbucks out here too...apparently it is pretty common here. I'm used to the corner stores and the ones inside other buildings.)

Check back soon for pictures from Salt Lake City!
