What a crazy few months! I haven't been able to blog much lately, but I will catch up with everything shortly. But, I wanted to share Colleen and Erik's wedding from just a few weeks ago. It was a great day overall and couldn't have been a more fun day for such a great couple!

A couple of months ago, I photographed Kasey and Kevin's new jersey engagement session. Fast forward a few weeks, and a trip to Tom River, New Jersey and it was the day of their wedding. During their engagement session, they brought their two sons along too. They are the typical 3 and 2 year old boys (playing in the rocks and walking to their own beat). The whole family was a delight to work with. I was really excited to see them on their wedding day too. I photographed the first wedding that the Waters Edge Restaurant held after reopening from Hurricane Sandy, and nearly 2 years later, they have come even further.
Kasey and Kevin were a true blast to work with. They were looking for exactly how I describe my style of photography - natural and laid back. They were definitely up for some portraits during different parts of the day, but I could tell they were much more comfortable w
hen we (my second photographer) and I took a step back and just let them make each other laugh.

If you look at the post just before this one, you might recognize the couple. Stef and Nick's engagement session at the Blue cross river rink was my last session of 2014. They were also my first session of 2015! I've known them both a very long time, but I've known Nick longer. Now, I tell every couple I meet with before their wedding, that I like to show up and try to blend in like a friend or quiet member of the family. I can truly say, this time I fit that description. Being close friends of the family... for nearly 20 years! ... it was very easy to blend in and get some awesome wedding photos of their wedding at Normand Farm.
The day was just perfect. Stef and Nick decided to see each other before the wedding ceremony. During the first look, there was nothing but pure joy (and some happy tears) between the two of them. We walked around the grounds of Normandy Farms, and enjoyed the nice weather. From there, a little refreshment and then on to the ceremony. Their outdoor wedding ceremony was filled with laughs. And if anyone happens to know them, that comes as no shock.
Their wedding reception in the Silo ballroom was so much fun. Everyone got up to party. Stef, being an extremely talented cake decorator (seriously, check out her instagram https://instagram.com/pretty.cake.things/ ), even made 2 weddings cakes for them!
This wedding will be one of my most memorable to have been part of, simply because I got to be there watching two friends become even happier together.
If you recall, I've known Jocelyn and Alan for a few years now. When we met up last year for their engagement session, one of their favorite spots was Addison St, in Philadelphia. So during the planning of their timeline, we made sure to add it to the list of photography locations for their wedding. The day of their wedding, like most weddings, there was lots of running around. There may or may not have been a mishap opening a bottle of beer in the guys room, but that didn't slow the day down. From the outside, aside from the chaos of making sure everything was ready right, Jocelyn was a steel trap; Calm, Cool and Collective. Alan was very calm also, but any nerves you may have seen definitely melted away once they saw each other for their first look.
We made our way from The Sonesta (btw, they just finished renovating the hotel and it is gorgeous!) to Broad Street for a classic image with City Hall in the background. After, we headed to the Philadelphia Art Museum for bridal party pictures. We spent most of the sunny day there, and I'm glad we did. As common as the art museum may be for a lot of photographers and other weddings, I love finding different angles each time I visit it. And we weren't disappointed that day either. We made our goal of visiting Addison Street too!
The reception was a blast and full of laughs throughout each speech.
I had SO much fun working with these two and was especially honored to be part of their wedding. 
I haven't had a chance to post Karen and Tom's engagement session, so I figured, Let's do 1 massive blog post with both the engagement session in Love Park, and their wedding at Normand Farms. During the engagement session, like most people, they started off a bit nervous, but after just a few minutes, they warmed up and rocked it out. On of Tom's big hobbies is his motorcycles, and they were really excited to be able to incorporate one of them into part of the engagement session. During the wedding day - starting the day out with another bout of nerves, they all melted away once they saw each other during their first look.
