Danielle and Mark - Wildwood Engagement Session

Driving from Philadelphia to Wildwood on a clear sunny day, was very relaxing.  I met up with Danielle and Mark to walk around the boardwalk and the shore for their engagement session.   They weren't sure what to expect from this photo shoot, so we got right into it by riding on the pirate ship ride around the pier.  Me being only 3... MAYBE 4... feet around from them for the first 5-10 minutes really got them used to the camera quick :) The boardwalk was in the last weekend of being open before the season ended, so we had a lot of open space to wander around.  At one point we ended up under the board walk.  The light streaming in was absolutely gorgeous and we just had to use it.  From there we headed out to the beach.  We made a quick detour before going down to the waterline though.  As we were walking up to the board walk earlier, we heard and saw a MONSTER TRUCK SHOW going on!  So naturally we had to use them for the background.

A stop for some video games, then ice cream at Kohr Brothers, our session ended.  It was a great fun shoot.  I really enjoyed spending time with these two and I'm really excited to be part of their wedding next year.

Valerie and Jason - Engagement session

So like a few recent sessions, I know Valerie from past couples.  I photographer her brother's wedding about 2 years ago, and was really happy to be part of this family's important day again! I met up with Valerie and Jason at Yards Brewery , but unfortunately they were doing some renovations, so we had to come up with plan B.  Right around the corner was Frankford Hall - it was a perfect location for such a relaxed session.  We all grabbed a drink and while they snacked on the Bavarian pretzel and played some Tumbling Blocks (also known as generic Jenga), I snapped some pictures.  Without a big crowd there, we were able to  go about our session with very little interruption and had an all around blast!

Lyndsey and Tim - Engagement Session

I've know Tim for quite a few years now, and his sister, Kim, was one of the first weddings I shot professionally!  So it was a complete joy to be able to hang out with these two around Tyler Park and at the gardens behind Bucks County Community College, for their engagement session.  Staying away from the stuffy posed pictures, we just walked around and found some really nice areas with good light coming in, and I just had them interact with each other.... and I'm very happy with the results! I'm looking forward to their wedding in a few weeks!

Jen and Jim - Flyers Skate Zone Engagement session

I met Jen a few years back, at Jenn and Todd's wedding.  And I was so happy when she called me to ask me to be part of her wedding!  We sat down at one of their favorite little restaurants to eat - Pei Wei (delicious!).  After getting to know them a bit, they asked if I would be wiling to do their engagement session at the Flyers Skate Zone in Voorhees... Um, Yes!! I met with them and drove to the skating rink.  We only had about 15-20 minutes there, as we got there right before public skate ended, but they were really nice and just let us on the ice, and there was no one there to get in our way.  After the skate zone, we headed to a small park, with their dog, to finish up the sunny afternoon session.  The light that day is what most photographers dream of - it was soft, golden and they looked great in it.

Jamie and Jason - Old City, Philadelphia Engagement Session

It's the beginning of the season! And that means engagement sessions!  I really enjoy this part of the whole wedding process - it's because I get a chance to spend sometime with each couple, before the wedding, and get to know them - how they act with each other, how they'll act with a camera pointed towards them, what kind of movies they like and just how much fun we'll have the day of the wedding, making their pictures. Jamie and Jason, fit that description perfectly.  I met them at their place in Philadelphia, and then we all drove to Old City.  Starting out near Penns Landing, we strolled around for a bit, stopping every now and than for a few pictures.  As the session went on, we moved in towards the parks near Carpenters Hall.  After we finished up, and headed back to their house, they reminded me of their roof deck with the view to Center City - How could we NOT use that?!

I had a lot of fun with these two, and can't wait for their wedding down at the shore soon!
