Jen and Jim's Wedding at the Carriage House in Galloway, NJ was my first wedding of 2014, and I couldn't have been more excited! After a very busy 2013 and a few weeks off, I was ready to get back to work. Jen, Jim and their family and friends did not disappoint! While it was a brisk February day, the sun was shining and couldn't have been any more gorgeous. We even got a change for a great sunset portrait. Take a peak at their preview below.
Val and Jason - Curtis Center Wedding
Val and Jason's wedding was my last wedding shoot of 2013. And let me say, it was an awesome day to close out on! Not only did I get to see a past couple of mine (Kathy and Anthony - Val's brother), but the weather was great, we got to take wedding pictures at Citizens Bank Ball Park and the Phillie Phanatic showed up to the reception at Cescaphe's Curtis Center in Philadelphia. Oh and they had some great beer available to them from Kona Brewery!
Melissa and Fran - Rosebank Winery Wedding
Melissa and Fran were married a few weeks at Old St. Andrews Church in Newtown. It was a really fun, brisk October day. At the beginning of the day I met with Melissa and her bridesmaids, while my second photographer, Jen Woodruff, covered Fran and his groomsmen at the hotel. This day, in particular, was a very easy day. Not only were Melissa and Fran, and their family and friends so easy to work with and spend the day with, but I actually went to high school with her brother, AND the whole days commute was about 5 miles for me.
After the ceremony, instead of just going over to Tyler Park (which is a gorgeous background), we ventured into Newtown and walked around State St. for a little bit. This was a fun alternative and we got some really awesome wedding pictures for them! From there, we headed over to their reception site - Rosebank Winery - where we walked through the grape vines, and vineyard and were welcomed with some of the most amazing golden sun.
As the reception kicked off, everyone danced and had an great time.
Melissa and Fran, thank you for allowing me to be part of your wedding!
I particularly love their expressions Jen caught here
Amanda and Ethan - Wedding
Amanda was given my information from a fellow photographer that was already booked, and I'm so happy she did. After meeting with Amanda, I got to know her a bit. Unfortunately, I was not able to meet Ethan at the same time (which I normally do like to do). There was good reason though. He currently serves in the Marines and is stationed outside of Chicago. Being in the military, means many sacrifices on both partners sides, but after (finally meeting Ethan), I knew that they would make up for any missed time. From the moment he saw her coming down the aisle, Ethan's eyes were on Amanda the whole time. As the day progressed we headed to the country club where we did most of the portraits and bridal party pictures. The whole day went so smoothly that it was such a great day! Towards the end of the reception, Ethan was coaxed into a karaoke version Piano Man (we were told the back story of this), and blew away the entire crowd! Nice job! A big shout out goes to my second shooter for the day - Blonnie Brooks - her coverage of the guys getting ready rocked!
Brianna and Brian - Waters Edge Wedding
Brianna and Brian lived in Colorado when they booked me. Because of the distance, and short timing that they would be back in this area before the wedding, we were able to schedule an engagement session. It wasn't any problem, though, because once I arrived at their shore house in Sea Side Heights, we all got along and had a great time. Brianna and Brian got ready in different houses - but they were only 3 doors down. Taking each group down to the beach separately (avoiding seeing each other), we left Sea Side and then headed over to The Waters Edge in Bayville, NJ. Not only were Brianna and Brian super excited to get married, their wedding had a special meaning for the owners of the Waters Edge too. This was first wedding here since Hurricane Sandy came through last year. The building looked great, and the staff handled everything so great! I'm definitely excited to shoot here again soon.
During the reception Brian lipsynced Baby Got Back, with everyone watching. He earned the standing ovation after his performance!
