Lisa and John – Hotel Bethlehem wedding

When Lisa contacted me, their wedding was only 2 weeks…. yes, 2 WEEKS.  But Since it was early in the wedding season, and also a Friday, I was lucky enough to be able to help them out.  One of the reasons for the last minute, was Lisa has just moved from Wales.  She and John have been traveling back and forth over the Atlantic over the last few years.  They met at a concert while John’s band was on tour in Wales.  Lisa had just started to get into photography, and she drove a few hours to attend one of her first concerts as a photographer.  It’s pretty awesome that she did.

The wedding was at the Hotel Bethlehem in Bethlehem.  With Old Glory, and the Union Jack flying outside of the hotel, it was a small and intimate gathering with her close family all coming too.  I had a great time in my short time getting to know these two, and hope that this whole 2013 wedding season is as much fun as these two provided.

Jen and Jim – Flyers Skate Zone Engagement session

I met Jen a few years back, at Jenn and Todd’s wedding.  And I was so happy when she called me to ask me to be part of her wedding!  We sat down at one of their favorite little restaurants to eat – Pei Wei (delicious!).  After getting to know them a bit, they asked if I would be wiling to do their engagement session at the Flyers Skate Zone in Voorhees… Um, Yes!!

I met with them and drove to the skating rink.  We only had about 15-20 minutes there, as we got there right before public skate ended, but they were really nice and just let us on the ice, and there was no one there to get in our way.  After the skate zone, we headed to a small park, with their dog, to finish up the sunny afternoon session.  The light that day is what most photographers dream of – it was soft, golden and they looked great in it.

Jamie and Jason – Old City, Philadelphia Engagement Session

It’s the beginning of the season! And that means engagement sessions!  I really enjoy this part of the whole wedding process – it’s because I get a chance to spend sometime with each couple, before the wedding, and get to know them – how they act with each other, how they’ll act with a camera pointed towards them, what kind of movies they like and just how much fun we’ll have the day of the wedding, making their pictures.

Jamie and Jason, fit that description perfectly.  I met them at their place in Philadelphia, and then we all drove to Old City.  Starting out near Penns Landing, we strolled around for a bit, stopping every now and than for a few pictures.  As the session went on, we moved in towards the parks near Carpenters Hall.  After we finished up, and headed back to their house, they reminded me of their roof deck with the view to Center City – How could we NOT use that?!

I had a lot of fun with these two, and can’t wait for their wedding down at the shore soon!

Meryl Gities Murtha - Very special and very lovely. You make a beautiful couple.

Kim and Ryan – wedding

Last weekend marked my last wedding shoot of 2012 and I can say it was a great wedding to end on!  Kim and Ryan celebrated their wedding in The Waterfall Room at The Roundhouse at Beacon Falls in Beacon, NY.  Kim was a a wedding I photographed a few years back.  In fact when she emailed me a few months ago – her words were “I’ve waited about 4 years to send you this email”… you don’t get much better than that!

The Waterfall Room is a new wedding venue in Beacon, NY – I was told they have only held 15 weddings so far!  The staff was an absolute treat to work with and everything was about Kim and Ryan:)

As I got to the room, Kim was just arriving and we started with some final getting ready pictures before I headed over to the church, just a block away, to meet with Ryan.  He may say he was nervous, but from the outside, he looked calm and very ready to see Kim for the first time when she walked down the aisle.

After the wedding ceremony, the three of took a slow stroll back to the Waterfall Room, stopping along the way, and making some awesome pictures.  Like I said, this was definitely a good way to end the season on!.

The reception kicked off and the dance floor stayed full the whole time!

Congrats Kim and Ryan!!
